A constructive and helpful dialogue between parents and school is very important in contributing to the effectiveness of our students’ education. During the course of the year there are a number of fundraising events that take place which are led by the active Association of Parents and Friends of Parents of Penair School (APFPS).
The Association is the focus for the partnership of parents, teachers and students where it exists to support the work of the school in helping to promote learning and to develop links with Faculties in school.
Some examples of fundraising activities that have taken place this year have involved:
- raffles for prize draws
- Bag2School recycling collections and anywhere else a helping hand is required
- quizzes for parents and friends
- providing refreshments at parents evenings
- supporting activities in school such as the nearly new/used school uniform
- supporting the annual Literary and Arts festival.
The APFPS continues to grow every year and all parents are invited to join the association and to attend any of its functions.
‘My son, Charlie, is in Year 8 and I’ve been part of APFPS since he started at Penair. My involvement has helped me appreciate the importance of a good partnership between parents, teachers and the students and given me a great insight into how the school works to consistently achieve high standards in all areas.
A constructive and helpful dialogue between parents and school is very important in contributing to the effectiveness of our children’s education. The APFPS works proactively to profile the importance of this relationship by supporting and promoting activities and events with the school community.
The APFPS continues to grow and all parents are invited to join the association.
